“PUPILS 52 boys and girls, aged 4-11 A teeny-tiny school with just over 50 pupils in three classes – but golly, it’s a good one. A mother emails: ‘When I looked around Llangrove, the children were coming in from break and one handed me a flower on her way past, which was pretty compelling.’ Llangrove is a largeish village (one pub, one school), 15 minutes north of Monmouth in a glorious valley. Deputy head Sarah Dean is, says a mother, ‘lovely and very down to earth’, and there are two ‘fantastic’ male teachers. There’s great focus on good manners (pupil behaviour was rated Outstanding by Ofsted), and strong links with the church and the local community. We’re impressed with the IT provision – lots of laptops, iPads and interactive whiteboards in each classroom. Pupils praise the after-school sports clubs, swimming lessons in Monmouth in the summer, theatre trips to Hereford and an annual whole-school expedition – one year they went to Barry Island, which must have been a whole lot of fun.”

Harvest Festival followed by MacMilllan Coffee Morning…

Harvest Festival

We look forward to seeing you in church and joining in with our celebration worship at our Harvest Festival next Friday, 28th September (9.30am start).

As part of our Harvest service we will be supporting Christchurch’s

‘Community Larder & Food Bank’ collection – any food donations of non-perishable goods and toiletries (including nappies) would be welcomed. Please can the children bring their donations in on the day (or before) so they can take them to the church at the start of the service. Thank you for your support.

MacMilllan Coffee Morning…

Come along for a nibble and a natter at out Macmillan Coffee Morning because every slice of cake and cup of coffee makes a huge difference to people facing cancer.

  • Our Macmillan Coffee Morning fundraising will follow the church service and will take place in the school hall (approx. 10:15 start).
  • We hope you like your bunting invitations that your child/ren brought home today.
  • There will be cakes and drinks for the children – please remember to send them with a money donation on the day.

Cake donations for this event (home baked or bought) would be warmly welcomed, and these can be left with Jackie, at the office, during the week or on the day itself (please label any cake tins/plates etc. so we can return them afterwards).
