Acorn Day …………..

Today was Acorn Day, with the theme of Birds (in recognition of the RSPB Big Schools’ Birdwatch and this weekend’s ‘Big Garden Watch’). The day started with a whole school British garden bird recognition quiz. On returning to their classrooms the children considered different activities that they wished to do. As a result, the children spent the day developing and refining their research, along with their design and making skills. Chosen tasks included: making origami birds; making the school grounds bird friendly with additional bird feeding stations (the chickens and duck were also very happy); using clay to make models; making junk model birds. The children have really tweeted us to some excellent end products.
