Our Vision & Ethos

From Little Acorns Great Oaks Grow

At Llangrove CE Academy, we work hard to enrich and develop the religious character of the School in accordance with the principles of the trustees, the Church of England and in partnership with the parish and diocese.

Growing together in knowledge, wisdom and faith. We are centred upon the love and teaching of Jesus. We inspire children to grow in the knowledge of God and his world, and to live in wisdom and faith. We nurture each pupil so that they can make the most of their God-given gifts and skills and be fruitful members of the community.

“A tree is known by the kind of fruit it bears.” – Matthew 12 v33.
“Keep your roots deep in Him and your lives built on Him.” – Colossians 2:7

Our Christian character impacts upon the achievement of each child in its widest sense, including the academic and personal development of all learners, together with their well-being and spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. In partnership with parents, carers and our wider community we are committed to providing an inspirational education and environment that nourishes all children’s needs.

Our aim is to provide the children and adults within our community with a loving, stimulating and supportive/welcoming environment where they can feel safe, secure and valued as individuals.

We Aim:
Staff, governors and parents undertake to:
Christian values are at the heart of our school and are integral to our whole school community; how we teach; how and what our children learn and ensures a sense of common purpose and mutual respect.

The values are explored over a three-year cycle: Creativity; friendship; Courage; Humility; Hope; Thankfulness; Reverence; Service; Forgiveness; Justice; Endurance; Respect; Peace; Wisdom; Compassion; Koinonia & Truthfulness.

Each half-term a new value word is explored through collective worship, stories, displays, newsletters and in the classroom. The children are immersed in that value word and it becomes part of their working vocabulary. This work links closely to other work done in PSHE and RE, and we find that the children readily use the values when dealing with real problems of their own.

Our church, Christ Church, is essential to our success. We visit the church regularly and build links with its members through our Collective Worships, our Open the Book sessions and our Harvest, Christmas and Easter services.
