At Llangrove CE Academy, our aim is that, through Religious Education as a rigorous and reflective discipline, pupils are enabled to explore religious beliefs and practices in relation to life’s big questions and experiences. In doing so, they are supported to grow in understanding and to develop their own patterns of belief, values and behaviour.
At Llangrove CE Academy, our Roots are in the values of faith and knowledge that enrich life’s journey. RE plays a central role in nurturing these roots, enabling pupils to deepen their understanding of faith, build knowledge, and make meaningful connections with others. Through exploring Christianity and a range of worldviews, pupils learn to value the world they share, nurture friendships and engage respectfully with diversity.
From these strong foundations, our Fruit is expressed. We believe that we are known and characterised by the children we serve, and that children are known by their fruit: by who they are as individuals and how they contribute to their communities and the wider society. RE supports this development by encouraging pupils to reflect on their identity, consider their purpose, and grow in confidence as they articulate their beliefs and values. It enables them to work together as a family, striving to achieve their best and fulfil their dreams.
Through effective teaching of RE, pupils are encouraged to develop aspirations for a bright future in modern-day Britain and beyond. In this way, RE makes a significant contribution to pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, enabling them to flourish as individuals and as active, compassionate citizens.
Parents have a legal right to withdraw their child from collective worship assemblies and/or Religious Education lessons.Â
