Movember Fundraising …….

Having Fun Fundraising… Tuesday’s collective worship was a bit of a close shave…for Mr. Fox, Mr. Preddy, Mr Goodchild and Mr Hartland.  The male staff – along with five others from across the HMFA have pledged their support for ‘Movember’ by growing a moustache to raise awareness of prostate cancer. This Week in Oak Class …….

‘Who killed Julius Caesar’?  was the question posed to Oak Class this week. They conducted a mock trial – presenting and then cross-examining different witnesses’ testimonies. The children have also begun to plan their ‘Roman banquet’, thinking about the delicacies that they could include for their parents’ pleasure!

Christmas Lunch Menu

Our delicious Christmas Lunch will take place on Thursday 15th December – menus will be sent home today.  The cost is £3.50 for KS2 children.

This Week in Oak Class …..

In preparation for their visit to the Roman Legion Museum on Monday, Oak Class learnt about the significance of the Roman Standard Bearer in bolstering the Roman army’s reputation. They also re-enacted battle formations to repel the Barbarian horde!

This Week in Oak Class ……..

Oak Class have had a super week practising our addition skills – finishing the week by playing some exciting addition games. In English we have created our own class alteration of The Nightmare Man. We set our new story in a theatre, with the children creating some very scary ideas.

Harvest Festival

Keystage One pupils gave thanks to bakers and the wonder of bread making.   Keystage Two children gave thanks to farmers and growers, importers, lorry drivers, shop workers, parents, family and carers who take food from fields to fork

Our Harvest Prayer….

Dear Lord, We thank you  for the sun to ripen our fruit, The rich soil to nurture our roots, and the welcome rain to water our crops, We also send thanks to the many different people who help take the food from fields to fork. Amen
