Acorn Class have been exploring the 4 seasons in science, especially autumn. We have been on a hunt to find autumn leaves, conkers and acorns. The children also had great fun creating some hedgehog pictures using hand prints. Year 1 have started an experiment to see how much rain we will have over an autumnal week. They have made a rain gauge to collect their results.
Linked to their Science topic ‘Living things and their habitats’ Beech Class have used extracts of the story ‘James and the Giant Peach’ to discover facts about the different mini-beasts in the story.
Oak Class learnt about the circulatory system this week – becoming red blood cells and delivering oxygen around the body. They also handled a heart and examined the four chambers of a heart first-hand.
In our Parent Celebration this morning Acorn Class showed their lovely creation of art work, Beech Class showed their peach art work then read out some of their ‘James & the Giant Peach’ character kenning poems and Oak Class created a little quiz to test people’s knowledge about where cocoa is grown.
