This week the children have been introduced to their new topics!
Acorn Class: Acorn class have had a busy week starting our topic of ‘What am I made from?’. We have been looking at different materials and have even had a go at designing our very own potato man using different materials for the different body parts.
On Monday afternoon, much to the pupils’ annoyance, Beech Class was ‘invaded’ by Oak Class and Mr Fox. The pupils who had left their seats were only allowed to stay in the room if they agreed to do jobs for Oak Class pupils. It was a great start to our topic ‘Invaders & Settlers’ (Celts and Romans) topic and the children suggested some great activities and questions they’d like to find the answers to about the Celts and Romans.
Oak Class were transported to the frontline this week; undergoing tasks in a trench whilst being bombarded in difficult working conditions (Mr Fox’s voice can attest to that). The children then came up with some fantastic ideas for potential lessons for our topic entitled ‘At The Front’. If you have any items/knowledge that would be useful, or know of anybody that does, then please speak to Mr Fox.
