On Tuesday, our Year 5 and 6 Rounders team travelled with St. Weonards school to compete in the HMFA annual Rounders competition held in Hereford. The weather kept fair and our team won their first match against Kings Caple (5.5 – 2). They went on to secure another victory against St. Weonards (4 – 2.5). The playoffs culminated with Sutton Academy (last year’s champions) and Llangrove playing for 1st and 2nd place. Despite the heavens opening during Llangrove’s batting, nothing was going to stop them scoring! Batting was far and running was swift. Llangrove scored an impressive 7 and a half rounders and Sutton scored 2. This outstanding victory meant that Llangrove Academy were the tournament’s champions!Â
A huge thank you also goes to two children from Kings Caple who made up our team numbers. We were awarded another fantastic trophy to bring back to our school.
