Year 4 spent Tuesday morning, working with Mrs Howie, putting the finishing touches to our entry for the Monmouth Show Scarecrow Competition. Our scarecrow ‘Mother Earth’ has a ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ theme. She was made by our Art Clubbers from recycled newspapers and plastic bags. Year 6 painted her to represent the land and seas. Her outfit is made from donated fabric samples, on which the children created nature inspired silhouettes. The patterned leaves on her top are inspired by our class names – Acorn, Beech & Oak and were decorated by Beech Class. We hope you will look out for her, along with the other scarecrows, on the Monmouth Show site this Saturday if you are visiting it.
