Acorn Class have been learning all about Florence Nightingale as she was a real life superhero. We have learnt lots of facts about her life and even made our very own lamps.
Always believed that Stone Age man lived in caves?
This week Beech Class learnt that this was definitely not the case when they looked at and constructed, in pairs and small groups, a number of different Stone Age home structures. They also discovered how speleologists (Speleology is the study of caves) have been able to tell us so much about Stone Age life from the cave art they created. The children then used charcoal and pastels to create their own artwork.
Oak Class:
In science we have continued to investigate sound. We have learnt how sound is measured and represented and used decibel meters to measure the amplitude of everyday noises around the school; as well as testing the impact distance has upon amplitude.
